What if the Mooncake for Mid-Autumn Festival was originally made in Sicily, Italy?

This concept explores an imaginary fusion between the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and the rich visual culture of Sicily.

I reimagined the mooncake packaging as if it were created by a Sicilian artisan, bringing together elements from Sicilian traditional art, decorative motifs, local architecture, landscapes, food culture, and iconic tourist destinations.

The design combines these cultural references with a whimsical and playful visual language, creating a packaging identity that feels distinctly Sicilian while still connecting to the story and symbolism of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Through this project, I wanted to explore how two different cultures could meet through illustration and packaging design—and how a familiar cultural object could be reinterpreted through the visual identity of another place.
